5S simple tool used to improve the efficiency and functionality of a workplace by identifying, organizing, and maintaining the minimum essential resources needed to do the job. The right quantity of the right thing that is clean and serviceable and stored in the right place… all the time!

The course discusses what 5S is and how to implement 5S into your organization starting from the top and working down through the organization. Training topics include: building the infrastructure, launching communications, training teams in 5S techniques, and developing a plan for rolling out 5S.

 

Designed for participants at any level of manufacturing.  No prior knowledge or skill is required. This simulation dramatically demonstrates the advantages of advanced production techniques over the outdated traditional methods. By working through the four-phases simulation, participants quickly understand the dynamics necessary to maximize throughput, minimize losses, and minimize inventory.

Utilizing a hands-on approach, participants operate workstations along an assembly line in a mythical airplane plant. Supplier problems, labor skills, deadlines, quality control, and other real-life situations have been incorporated into each phase of the simulation. Participants learn the Lean fundamentals of Value, Value Stream, Flow, Pull and Perfection.  They also learn the Eight Wastes of Manufacturing and gain an understanding of 5S and the Lean Building blocks.
